Today I wrote a letter, well holiday card, to a friend and co-worker. She has been going through some family issues recently and just really been feeling down lately. I decided to send a letter to our job addressed to her. I wrote a card that simply said that in our encounters she has inspired me to be a better person and to keep her head up because God is always watching. He never gives us more than we an handle with him. I finished by saying that each day is a new gift to change something, and that everyday she changes the lies of children and adults just the same. I signed it love, a friend.
While she has no idea that I wrote, it was awesome to watch her read it. She cried (which no one has seen her do in years). She said out loud right there in front of all of us, "God, I don't know who this is, but bless them." That blessing meant more to me than almost anything I have ever experienced. God lifted my spirit as he lifted hers today. I know her spirit will not be the same.
